Requirements

PapyrAI's AI features run on an on-device model. They need an iPhone 16 or newer, or an iPad with M1 or newer, M2 iPad Air or newer, or A17 Pro iPad mini, on iOS or iPadOS 26 or later.

Summaries don't appear

  • Turn on the on-device model in iOS Settings > Apple Intelligence & Siri.
  • Set the device and Siri language to a supported language, such as English (US).
  • After turning it on, keep the device on Wi-Fi and charging while the model downloads. This can take 10–30 minutes.
  • In PapyrAI, open Settings > On-device model to see the current status.

Adding papers

  • Settings > Choose papers folder: pick a folder of PDFs in Files or iCloud Drive.
  • Settings > Paste arXiv URL: paste a link such as https://arxiv.org/abs/1706.03762 and tap Import from arXiv.

Purchases

The first 2 papers are free. PapyrAI Unlock is a one-time purchase for an unlimited library, with no subscription.

  • To restore on a new device, open Settings > Purchases > Restore purchase while signed in with the same Apple Account.
  • If a purchase fails, the app shows an error code. Email it to us with a screenshot.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
